yakusugi table runner

$1,500.00

The Yakusugi Table Runner is the premier gallery piece designed by Studio Jason Brown. This stunning piece is handcrafted in Japan from Yakusugi, over 1000 year old japanese cedar trees that grow in a primeval forest on Yakushima. It was the combination of Yakushima’s abundant natural resources and stunning beauty that led its forest to be designated as a World Heritage Site. Harvested only when fallen due to natural causes, this cedar is thinly sliced and woven with silk by an artisan into a sustainable textile that maintains the appearance of the wood’s natural grain. The Table Runner is showcased in a handcrafted paulownia wood box, creating an object that is not only rich in visual interest, but has a heritage and story all of its own. Size is 12” tall x 60” wide.

PNW and Seattle are having one of the coldest springs in history. When I moved here in the 90’s I was told “summer does not start until July 5th”. It really feels far away today. #imreadyforsummer #lifesimplyelevated
