Laura Zeck & Jesse Doquilo
OPENING RECEPTION » Friday, November 10th at 5PM. About the show » The work of Laura Zeck and Jesse Doquilo will be hosted in the Brand Lab Gallery at Lost Luggage; the headquarters of a local designer and manufacturer of luxury presentation tools. Gallery hours are 10am to 4pm, Monday through Friday. About Laura Zeck » Laura is a Seattle print maker who recieved her BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute (91'), and her MFA from the University of Washington (93'). Her work has been shown in numerous galleries and is included in both public and private collections. Recently her work was on exhibit at the Portland Art Museum. Laura is also a former President of the AIGA Seattle Chapter and the CO-Director of Art with Heart, a community outreach program focusing on at-risk- youth. She is currently chairing a 5 part lecture series entitled "Women in Design", and the 2nd edition of the Intergenerational Book Project, a recent NEA grant recipient. For more information on Laura's work visit laurazeck.com About Jesse Doquilo » A highly regarded designer of avant guarde furniture, Jesse brings years of woodworking and design experience to his line resulting in a visionary combination of craftsmanship, minimalism and practicality. His most famous furniture design, the XLOUNGE, is a chair, side table, magazine groove and book nook all in one. The New York Times featured the XLOUNGE in their Escape section as an all-in-one solution for outdoor furniture. In addition to being a talented furniture designer, Jesse is also an award winning graphic designer of 22+ years. Recently his graphic design work has been published in a book entitled "Graphic Radicals", by Chronicle. He is recognized as a National Fellow by the American Institute of Graphic Arts, and has received many awards for his work including the coveted AIGA Gold Award. Icons, Americana imagery, symbols, numbers, typography, colors and space act as Randolph's own visual language. Her use of universal themes has attracted national notoriety.
